Lovely . Typical Buenos Aires bodegón. But also has decorations related with the most popular sport in the country: football", Very nicely decorated as used to be restaurants in "La Boca". It's menú keeps the old bodegón dishes. Very tasty, big portions. The staff makes your stay very comfortable. Prices affordable and similar to other restaurants. Nice to visit!

La Popular offers an incredible bodegon-style dining experience in San Telmo. The portions are massive, perfect for sharing among friends. The milanesa is outstanding, bursting with flavor. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous servings meant for sharing. However, the wait for food was longer than expected, and some cocktails were forgotten. Despite these hiccups, I'll definitely return for more delicious meals!

I enjoyed my meal here. The servings are quite generous. My pasta was tasty. The penguin of wine was a good value. Prices are fair - except for the service fee - 1,200 was a bit high for the not-so-great focaccia. Definitely recommended.

Nice atmosphere, but I think it relies too much on its history. The food was good, not great. We will have to go back and try something else, give it another try.

We had a lovely meat at la popular we happened to bump into it. I highly recommend it for local cuisine we got milanesas (there are so many varietions) and it's not a large tourist trap. Prices are reasonable too

Such a good experience. Great crispy rabas to start! Followed by milanesas bigger than any I’ve had here. Thick and perfectly cooked!! Has chocolate mousse for dessert. Would skip. Wasn’t that amazing. A bit too thick. But would come back again overall.

Huuuuuge portions, milanesa was even too big... tortilla caprese was very good but also way too big for one person

Cool spot. It has a local, casual feel to it and was very popular (lol). We got the milanesa napolitana with a salad instead of french fries which was plenty for two. We even had leftovers. Attentive and friendly staff. The house red wine was so good my husband asked to see the bottle.
